Charel Murrell Welcomes you to Clecnhin Fit

My Name is Charel Murrell and Clenchin Fit emerged from my personal fitness journey, combining creativity and passion for health. I began by creating an Instagram video showcasing muscle clenching to maintain the ‘pump’ that weightlifters often seek. Initially intended as a light-hearted joke, this concept has since evolved into a brand that represents much more than just clenching.

At Clenchin Fit, we recognize the significant impact of mental health on our overall well-being and how we present ourselves in the world. Our approach to fitness is holistic; we prioritize the mind, body, and spirit. We believe that the foundation of any fitness journey begins with our thoughts. These thoughts greatly influence our actions and how we support ourselves in achieving our goals.

Understanding the barriers that can arise in the process, we draw from our personal experiences to guide others. Following the mental aspect, we advocate for physical movement that aligns with individual goals. Nurturing our inner selves completes the process. Once we have established a plan, we emphasize the importance of self-reflection and finding peace within.

How we got started

How we got started: I have always faced challenges with my weight, particularly with binge eating. After a significant life change in 2018, I made the decision to look inward and understand the reasons behind my behavior. I realized that I had been seeking comfort, but in doing so, I was ultimately harming myself—a pattern that was all too familiar. I began therapy, which prompted me to explore healthier ways to manage my weight. At that time, I weighed 255 pounds, which was the heaviest I had ever been. I was a parent to a two-year-old and a thirteen-year-old, and I wanted to implement changes not only for myself but for my children as well. I was determined to break the cycle.

I started to believe in my purpose and knew it was time to reset my life, with faith guiding my journey. I adopted a healthier diet while still enjoying some of my favorite snacks, such as Doritos, cookies, and ice cream, but in moderation and not on a daily basis. I learned to recognize my hunger cues, which remains one of the most important aspects of my journey today. I am now capable of stepping back when I notice that I might be eating to seek comfort rather than nourishment.

For me, weight loss is a holistic process. While it can be motivated by wanting to fit into a specific dress, it’s essential to approach it with a mindset that encompasses the mind, body, and soul. I have explored various methods and ultimately discovered what works best for my body. I’ve learned to listen to it, leading to sustainable results. Although quick fixes have been tempting in my past, they often result in returning to my starting point.

My passion lies in helping others gain a comprehensive understanding of themselves—not just how they perceive themselves, but embracing their whole being. I firmly believe that when you truly know yourself, you can cultivate self-belief.
